Spanish Teaching Role in a Catholic Secondary School
A Catholic secondary school in Preston is seeking to appoint a Spanish Teacher to join its Modern Foreign Languages department from September. This is a full-time role within a faith-based school that promotes high academic standards alongside strong values and personal development.
Spanish is an established subject within the curriculum with students studying languages as part of a broad and balanced education.
About the Role
You will teach Spanish across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 delivering lessons that develop students confidence in speaking listening reading and writing.
You will support students preparing for GCSE Spanish examinations helping them build vocabulary improve grammatical accuracy and develop cultural awareness.
Depending on experience there may be opportunities to contribute to Key Stage 5 teaching.
You will work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure consistent curriculum delivery and assessment across the department.
Key Responsibilities
Teach Spanish across KS3 and KS4
Deliver engaging language lessons focused on communication skills
Prepare students for GCSE Spanish examinations
Assess student work and provide structured feedback
Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records
Contribute to departmental planning and shared resources
Support student engagement and participation in lessons
Promote high standards of behaviour and learning

Essential Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Experience teaching Spanish at secondary level
Ability to teach KS3 and KS4 effectively
Strong classroom management skills
Good organisational and communication skills
Desirable
Experience teaching GCSE Spanish
Experience teaching A-Level Spanish
Ability to contribute to enrichment or cultural activities
