Music Teaching Role in a Faith School Setting
A faith secondary school in Derby is seeking to appoint a Music Teacher to join its Creative Arts department from September. This is a full-time role within a school that values creativity community and student development alongside academic achievement.

About the Role
You will teach Music across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 delivering lessons that include performance composition and music theory. Students will be supported in developing practical skills using instruments as well as understanding musical structure and styles.
You will support students preparing for GCSE Music helping them develop both performance and coursework components.
Depending on experience there may be opportunities to contribute to Key Stage 5 teaching.
The role may include involvement in school concerts rehearsals and extracurricular music activities.
Key Responsibilities
Teach Music across KS3 and KS4
Deliver lessons covering performance composition and theory
Support students preparing for GCSE Music
Organise and support rehearsals and performances
Assess student work and provide structured feedback
Maintain music equipment and resources
Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records
Contribute to departmental planning and enrichment activities

Essential Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Experience teaching Music at secondary level
Ability to teach KS3 and KS4 effectively
Strong classroom management skills
Good organisational and communication skills
Desirable
Experience teaching GCSE or A-Level Music
Ability to lead extracurricular music activities
Experience supporting performances and school events
