Biology Teaching Role in a Secondary School
A secondary school in Walsall is seeking to appoint a Biology Teacher to join its Science department from September. This is a full-time role within a school that delivers a broad and balanced science curriculum.
Biology is a key subject within the department with students studying topics such as cell biology human biology ecology and genetics across Key Stage 3 Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5.
About the Role
You will teach Biology across Key Stage 3 Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5 delivering lessons that develop students understanding of biological concepts and processes.
The role includes both theoretical teaching and practical laboratory work allowing students to develop investigative skills alongside subject knowledge.
You will prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Biology examinations supporting them in developing strong written responses data analysis skills and exam technique.
You will work collaboratively with colleagues within the Science department to ensure consistency in teaching and assessment.
Key Responsibilities
Teach Biology across KS3 KS4 and KS5
Deliver lessons covering key biological topics
Plan and supervise practical laboratory activities
Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Biology examinations
Assess student work and provide structured feedback
Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records
Maintain safe laboratory environments
Contribute to departmental planning and shared resources

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
