Position Overview:We are seeking a highly experienced Certified Sterile Processing Technician to support surgical and clinical operations by ensuring proper decontamination sterilization and distribution of medical instruments and equipment. This role is critical in maintaining patient safety and supporting efficient procedural workflows.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform decontamination cleaning inspection assembly sterilization and distribution of surgical instruments and medical equipment
- Operate and maintain sterilization equipment including autoclaves and washer-disinfectors
- Ensure proper handling storage and tracking of sterile supplies
- Adhere to infection control standards and regulatory guidelines
- Monitor sterilization processes and maintain accurate documentation and logs
- Identify and report equipment malfunctions or process deviations
- Maintain inventory levels and assist with supply management
- Collaborate with surgical and clinical teams to ensure timely availability of sterile instruments
- Follow all safety protocols including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Full-time 40 hours per week
- 8-hour rotating shifts
- Must be available to work consecutive weekends as needed
- Holiday coverage may be required
- Certified Sterile Processing Technician (required prior to start)
- Minimum of 4 years of sterile processing experience
- Active state license (if applicable)
- Experience with Cerner electronic systems preferred
- Strong knowledge of sterilization techniques infection control and regulatory standards
- BLS/BCLS required
- ACLS PALS NRP and ATT certifications may be required per facility guidelines
- Holiday pay eligibility is based on shifts that begin on the observed holiday
- Candidate must be flexible with scheduling including rotating shifts and weekend assignments
