Job Title: Safety Training Coordinator / Safety Trainer

Location: Qatar

Job Summary

The Safety Training Coordinator/Trainer is responsible for planning delivering and monitoring safety training programs for contract personnel in a petrochemical plant environment. The role ensures full compliance with company safety standards regulatory requirements and industry best practices while promoting a strong safety culture across all workforce levels.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan schedule and conduct safety training programs for contract employees.

  • Deliver safety courses including:

    • Work Permit Procedures

    • Confined Space Entry

    • Lockout Tagout & Try (LOTO)

  • Ensure all contract personnel meet mandatory safety training and certification requirements.

  • Maintain accurate training records certifications and documentation.

  • Conduct safety induction programs for new employees as per company policies.

  • Monitor compliance with plant safety procedures and standards.

  • Perform Task Risk Assessments (TRA) prior to maintenance activities.

  • Ensure proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) across the workforce.

  • Conduct regular toolbox talks and safety meetings.

  • Track report and follow up on near-misses incidents and accidents using company reporting systems.

  • Support and implement plant loss prevention programs.

  • Provide safety guidance coaching and consulting support to employees and contractors.

  • Continuously monitor workplace safety practices and recommend improvements.

  • Participate actively in company safety initiatives and training programs.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Proficiency in English (speaking reading and writing).

  • Ability to communicate complex safety procedures clearly and effectively.

  • High School Diploma plus completion of a 3-year technical training program.

  • At least one recognized safety certification (e.g. NEBOSH OSHA or equivalent).

Work Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Safety Officer or Safety Coordinator.

  • Experience in petrochemical or industrial plant environments is mandatory.

  • Strong knowledge of plant safety standards procedures and hazard identification.
