Job Duties

The Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) is seeking an Operations Supervisor to join the Motor Carrier IFTA/IRP team. The Operations Supervisor oversees daily operations for International Registration Plan (IRP) International Fuel Tax Agreement (IFTA) and Performance Registration Information System Management (PRISM) and EZFleet programs ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations. This role mentors staff resolves escalated issues and ensures operational accuracy to support DMVs goals for compliance efficiency and customer satisfaction. Position is responsible for ensuring that Virginia complies with the requirements and obligations of international compacts and federal programs through the development of work processes procedures standards and staffing assignments.

Minimum Qualifications

Strong leadership and mentoring skills to guide staff improve workflows and ensure compliance with standards
Ability to prioritize resolve issues and foster a positive team environment
Ability to interpret and explain complex information
Proficiency in PC use and technology including Microsoft Office
Excellent communication skills for team leadership stakeholder collaboration and customer interactions
Strong organizational time management skills and multitasking in high-demand settings
Proficiency in financial reconciliation processes and compliance with PCI standards

Additional Considerations

Advanced knowledge of DMV motor carrier programs including IRP IFTA PRISM and EZFleet
Experience in compliance monitoring financial reconciliation or transaction processing within a team
Proficiency in resolving escalated compliance and operational issues including preparing records for audits
