What Youll Do:
- Regulatory Submissions: Manage regulatory submissions for the registration and renewal of crop protection products with PMRA ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and guidelines.
- Regulatory Strategy: Collaborate with cross-functional teams including R&D Customer Service Sales Marketing Supply Chain Manufacturing and Legal to establish regulatory strategies that align with business goals product development plans and market expansion objectives for Canada.
- Regulatory Trackers and Database: Maintain and track product registration status renewal times submission statuses and compliance activities.
- Label Review: Own the review and approval of product labels to ensure compliance with applicable regulations in Canada.
- Regulatory Studies and Documentation: Coordinate regulatory activities with third parties including research permits and arrange and monitor laboratory and field studies.
- Regulatory Compliance: Monitor regulatory changes related to crop protection regulations in Canada assess their impact and implement necessary changes to maintain compliance.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Provide regulatory guidance and support to internal teams including product development manufacturing marketing and others.
- Regulatory Processes: Develop and improve internal regulatory processes workflows and documentation to streamline operations and ensure efficient compliance. Participate in activities such as external audits regulatory inspections or product recalls.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with regulatory agencies industry associations and other relevant stakeholders. Work with federal agencies to resolve technical or regulatory/registration issues.
- Training and Education: Conduct training sessions and provide guidance to internal teams on regulatory requirements policies and best practices to foster a culture of compliance.
- Compliance Leadership: Lead and perform work in alignment with Nutriens corporate policies programs and SH&E regulations to bring our Culture of Care to life.
- Additional Duties: Complete additional duties as needed to meet business objectives with the ability and willingness to support U.S. product registration.
What Youll Bring:
- Masters Degree in a scientific discipline (chemistry or biology preferred or a related field such as environmental engineering entomology agronomy biological sciences agriculture)
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in regulatory affairs or other relevant technical roles in the agriculture industry (e.g. R&D production field trials)
- Problem-solving & collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and compliance
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal with the ability to present complex regulatory information clearly
- Strong understanding of crop protection product registrations in Canada and a strong technical background in fields like chemistry biology environmental science or plant physiology
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to assess complex regulatory issues and provide practical solutions
- Willingness to learn teach and share information within the team
- Proficient in Microsoft Office regulatory software and databases
