The Advanced Effector Guidance Systems (AEGS) Department within Raytheon Hardware Engineering provides Electrical Systems Engineering to develop Electronic Systems solutions for products across the Raytheon portfolio. Our core electrical engineering responsibilities include architecture requirements integration and test. Our core electrical engineering technologies include RF/RADAR Navigation/IMU/GPS Data Link/Communication Digital and Power. We partner with several Electrical Product Team departments that provide the detailed design of our electrical products as well as systems teams.

The Advanced Effectors Guidance Systems department is seeking a Senior Principal Electrical Subsystem Architect to lead architecture development for next-generation missile guidance control and sensing electronics. This position defines and drives the technical direction for high reliability power conditioning energy delivery and precision analog subsystems that operate in extreme missile environments. The architect will evaluate mature and guide designs across a wide range of development stagesfrom early conceptual modeling through detailed design integration and transition to production.

What You Will Do

• Chair technical reviews and set technical strategy and trade space across programs.

• Own crosssubsystem interfaces and drive complex multidisciplinary issue resolution.

• Provide technical governance and adjudication across partner/supplier efforts; serve as technical authority.

• Architect high reliability power systems and precision analog subsystems for guidance navigation and control electronics.

• Lead power architecture trade studies technology evaluations and downselections aligned to performance cost producibility and environmental constraints.

• Assess and address designs with varying design maturity: early concepts partially complete hardware legacy designs requiring modernization and near production configurations.

• Identify gaps risks and improvement opportunities in immature or evolving designs and mentor teams in closing those gaps.

• Perform detailed analysis of power system loads margins thermal impacts transient behavior and electromagnetic compatibility.

• Guide teams through component selection derating survivability requirements and highreliability screening strategies.

• Participate in and lead engineering reviews readiness events risk reduction activities crossdisciplinary integration efforts and failure review boards.

• Support hardware bringup prototype evaluation rootcause analysis and design refinement.

• Coordinate with systems engineering digital design RF modeling/simulation GNC and manufacturing disciplines to ensure robust and producible electrical power architectures.

• Communicate with Chief Engineers PMs Technical Fellows Directors/VPs/Executives.

• Cooptimization across electrical thermal structural motor control and mechanical impacts.

• Support technology roadmaps and contribute to longterm capability development across the portfolio.

• Influence over power architecture for next generation effectors and guidance systems.

• Technical leadership with visibility across RTX Missiles & Defense.

• Opportunities for advanced training career development and mentorship.

• Mentors senior talent; investigates evaluates troubleshoots and adjudicates partner/supplier work.

• Present trade studies to stakeholders as needed.

• Rapidly learn and apply new technologies; prototypes cuttingedge solutions.

• Focus on system trades quantifiable decisionmaking and mandatory application of realworld behaviors and military/aerospace specifications.

Qualifications You Must Have

• Typically requires a Bachelors Degree in Science Technology Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience

• Minimum of 10 years experience in power electronics analog design mixedsignal design or highreliability electronics development.

• Enterprise / crosscompany multidisciplinary architecture development.

• Partner / SME adjudication and technical governance experience.

• Experience with VHDLSMS/MAST plus mixeddomain governance and correlation (electrical thermal mechanical).

• Experiencing building platform roadmaps; evaluating and integrating cuttingedge technologies.

Qualifications We Prefer

• Advanced Degree such as Masters/ PhD

• Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret clearance. TS preferred; TS/SCI highly desirable.

• Experience with missile systems guidance electronics harshenvironment power systems or seeker/power integration.

• Experience leading multicompany efforts; technical authority.

• Hands-on experience with lab bring up prototype testing instrumentation and failure analysis.

• Effective SME negotiation across disciplines.

• Modeling languages: VHDLAMS/MAST StateAMS; mixedsignal and stateaware models.

• Demonstrated expertise in highdensity or highefficiency power conversion power sequencing energy storage interfaces or precision power control.

• Ability to analyze and troubleshoot designs at various maturity stages including incomplete data sets legacy architectures and hardware already in build.

• Experience with environmental qualification MILSTD design and systems operating in shock vibration and thermal extremes.

• Proficiency with SPICE simulation modeling tools and power/analog design best practices

• Understanding of EMI/EMC mitigation grounding strategies and systemlevel power integrity.

• Experience in program leadership technical direction or multidisciplinary coordination.

• Mastery of harness effects power quality EMI/EMC and Signal Integrity.

  Working knowledge of: MILSTD704 MILSTD1275 MILSTD461 MILSTD464 MILSTD1553 MILSTD1760 RS422/RS485 Ethernet/TSN.

• Familiarity with ModelBased Engineering requirements management and digital engineering practices.

The salary range for this role is 132400 USD - 251600 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer including but not limited to the role function and associated responsibilities a candidates work experience location education/training and key skills.
