Senior Employee Relations HR Consultant (part-time or casual)
Job Summary
- Strong Employee Relations focus supporting SME clients many based in Western Sydney
- Part time or casual likely 10-15hpw on commencement with potential to increase over time
- Work-from-home available though MUST be available for regular visits to Penrith Office and occasional client/prospect premises
HR Success has been providing HR and recruitment support to predominantly small to medium-sized businesses for more than 18 years. Our small team is based in Penrith and services clients across Sydney and often beyond.
To support our growth and medium-term succession plans were seeking an experienced consultant with considerable knowledge and a passion for supporting clients with the full range of employee relations and general HR matters.
Less experienced HR-qualified candidates with great people and communication skills and a willingness to learn are also welcome to apply.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Directly supporting clients (in-person by phone and email) in relation to the full range of ER and general HR matters potentially including: drafting employment contracts/agreements interpreting Awards conducting HR compliance reviews reviewing/drafting HR policies and handbooks providing support in relation to performance management matters potential terminations of employment workers compensation matters employee grievances supporting workplace investigations restructuring and redundancies Fair Work matters etc
- Keeping abreast of relevant changes undertaking research and liaising with external partners including lawyers and investigators to ensure we continue to provide quality guidance and support to our clients
- Contributing to education and business development strategies (eg. writing blog articles contributing to webinars and small group training attending occasional networking events)
- As and when required contributing to other aspects of our work with clients potentially including culture and employee engagement strategies coaching/training and recruitment.
Our ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate:
- An enthusiasm for and knowledge and experience in the full range of ER and general HR matters (including a good understanding of employment-related legislation and Fair Work procedures)
- A natural curiosity supported by strong research skills
- Ideally relevant tertiary qualifications
- An understanding of the people issues facing small to medium-sized businesses and a down-to-Earth practical and personable approach
- The ability to work independently be highly organised and maintain strong attention to detail
- Exceptional interpersonal skills including the ability to influence
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels orally and in writing
- Exceptional reliability and a strong customer service focus
- A strong work ethic coupled with flexibility in terms of the nature and hours of work
- Essential: Willingness and availability to regularly attend the office (Penrith) and travel to clients premises and occasional networking events (mainly in Western Sydney)
- Good computer literacy
A current drivers license and reliable vehicle is required.
This opportunity may suit a range of people including:
- A mature person whos been there and done that in respect of ER/HR yet wants tomaintain their skills and work on a less than full-time basis
- A person who is perhaps earlier on in their career yet has suitable knowledge and experience and presently requires flexibility in terms of hours and days of work
- A generalist HR consultant with suitable experience looking to specialise in ER and/or move into a consulting role.
While were not seeking or making any commitments at this stage there is some potential for a suitably experienced candidate to eventually move into a general management role at some point in the future.
