Assistant Distribution Center Manager

Amarr(a part of ASSA ABLOY the global leader in opening solutions)is hiring a hands-on experienced AssistantDistribution CenterManager (Service Manager) to join our team inGrand Rapids MI. This is the ideal position for the person who loves to manage adynamicteam with an all-hands-on-deck approach as well as be directly involved with directing theday to dayoperations of a warehouse.

What you will be doing:

• Coordinateassembly work schedules (including temporary personnel as needed) and warehouse operations to ensure service leads are met.

• Be responsible forestablishingand enforcing operational procedures for verification of incoming and outgoing shipmentshandlingand disposition of merchandise andkeeping ofwarehouse inventory.

• Ensurethat corporate programsregardingsafety security care of equipment and facility are followed. Enforce OSHA complianceand to assurean injury-free workplace.

• Be responsible forall aspects of hourly warehouse staff from hiring to termination which includes staffing development supervision and direction.

• Lead Continuous Improvement initiatives.

Working conditions and experience:

• Manual dexterity and hand to eye coordination for operation of hand/power tools.

• Extended time onfeet walking distances up to 200 feet.

• Frequent stooping bending walkingcarryingand lifting (up to 75 lbs.).

What we are looking for:

• Minimum of 2 years of distribution center/warehouse supervisory experience.

• Experience with Continuous Improvementactivitiesstronglypreferred.

• Clear and effective written and oral communication skills.

• College education or related experience.

• Organizational timemanagementand analytical skills.

• Good supervisoryleadershipand motivational skills.

• PC / Windows skills.

• Mechanical aptitude / power tools.

• Must be able to clear background/drug/MVR screenings
