Location: Syracuse NY 13210
Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift Details:
- Day Shift: 11:00 AM 11:00 PM (3x12-Hour Shifts)
- Night Shift: 07:00 PM 07:00 AM (3x12-Hour Shifts)
- Block Scheduling: Not Available
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Holiday Requirement: Some holidays required
Job Summary:We are seeking an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN/LVN) with Pediatrics Emergency Department experience for a contract assignment in an acute care setting. The ideal candidate will be skilled in IV placement phlebotomy and providing high-quality patient care with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care in a pediatric emergency or acute care setting
- Perform IV insertion and phlebotomy procedures
- Obtain and record vital signs and patient information
- Prepare patients for examinations and assist during procedures
- Set up trays for injections and assist with clinical procedures
- Administer medications and injections within scope of practice
- Maintain exam rooms and ensure clinical areas are clean and stocked
- Assist with patient flow scheduling and general office duties
- Coordinate with insurance providers for authorizations and referrals
- Document patient information accurately using EMR systems
- Collaborate with physicians nurses and healthcare team members
- Monitor patient responses to treatments and report changes
Requirements:
- Minimum 1 year of LPN/LVN experience (required)
- Experience in Pediatrics ED or Emergency Department strongly preferred
- Ability to perform IV placement and phlebotomy
- Experience in acute care or inpatient setting preferred
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Certifications & Licensure:
- Active New York State LPN/LVN License (required)
- CPR Certification (required; must be current or eligible for recertification)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced clinical environment
