SUMMARY

Supervise and oversee the Shuttle Bus Operations the Charlotte Douglas International Airport to maintain the operational efficiency buses by ensuring Airport Shuttle Bus Drivers and Shuttle Bus Dispatchers and Fuelers follow procedures as necessary to meet customer demands. Ensure effective timely and responsive service to meet the needs of airport employees and the traveling public. Act decisively and exercise independent judgment within established rules regulations and procedures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Supervise and coordinate 24/7/365 Shuttle Bus Operations activities including administration and enforcement of airport ordinances DOT Standards rules and regulations. Instruct drivers on approved airport transportation routes policies and procedures.
2. Oversee daily bus operations to ensure services run smoothly safely and on schedule. Coordinate with dispatchers to supervise drivers assignment routes adjust schedules and allocate resources as needed.
3. Utilize the Fleet Management System to monitor bus locations track driver performance and analyze operational data. Ensure the system is used effectively to optimize routes and improve overall efficiency.
4. Monitor and report on key performance indicators safety incidents vehicle utilization customer satisfaction driver safety scorecard and driver performance scorecard. Use metrics to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence. Monitoring drivers performance for driver of the month.
5. Supervise and monitor the work and performance of the Shuttle Bus Drivers Fuelers and Dispatchers. Complete Performance Reviews coaching and progressive discipline. Conduct shift bids prepare schedules assign work to Shuttle Bus Drivers Fuelersand Dispatchers. Participate in work of subordinates as required to maintain an efficient operation. Advise management staff of operational concerns and recommend changes to areas such as staffing levels safety hazards and maintenance issues.
6. Monitor radio communication and assign buses to meet customer demands. Approve alternative service in accordance with established procedures. Ensure authorized breaks and meal periods are assigned and recorded in accordance with policies and procedures.
7. Respond to and investigate vehicle accidents and injuries to include pulling cameras footage from buses and reviewing its contents. Complete associated paperwork in accordance with policies and procedures. Participate on the Accident Review Committee. Transport employees for drug testing in accordance with Aviation Department and City policies and procedures.
8. Complete related paperwork such as vehicle inspection reports vehicle work orders training records performance reviews disciplinary memos performance improvement plans shift logs and training records.
9. Time keeping. Enter adjust and approve time vacations overtime and make schedules. Answer and document calls from drivers and customers and provide them with relevant information. Provide accurate information to the public. Respond to requests for service in accordance with policies and procedures. Follow-up with Management staff in accordance with policies and procedures. Monitor attendance and conduct disciplinary actions as necessary.
10. Hiring of Shuttle Bus Drivers Fuelers and Dispatchers. Select applicants and conduct interviews and reference checks. Complete necessary paperwork for badge renewals onboarding and offboarding
11. Assist passengers and work public areas during IROPS such as inclement weather holidays special events and airport emergencies. increase bussing operations and services as deemed necessary.
12. Serve as a back-up for Bus Operations Trainer and Dispatcher as required to maintain an efficient operation.
13. Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High School diploma or equivalent and 5 year(s) of relevant experience; or 2 Year College Degree and 3 year(s) of relevant experience; or Bachelors degree and 1year of relevant experience.

LICENSES REQUIRED:

A CDL A or B license with a passenger endorsement is required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

5 years bus operations experience
Supervisory experience with large work groups
Ability to maintain day to day operations while managing projects as assigned.

GENERAL INFORMATION:
Must be able to work assigned shifts including holidays or special events to include urgent/emergency situations and inclement weather. Shifts and desk hours subject to change. Overtime possible.

The salary range for this position is $34.25 - $38.05 an hour.
This position is deemed mission critical and is not eligible for teleworking.
Must successfully pass and maintain an active Security Threat Assessment (STA) and Criminal History Records Check (CHRC). Certain convictions will disqualify individuals from unescorted access privileges and therefore exclude from employment.

Adequate vision hearing and speech required.
Must be able to pass the City of Charlotte pre-employment physical.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
