Schedule
- Shift: Day Shift 3x12 Hours (07:00 19:00)
- Hours: 36 hours/week
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Floating: Required within Med/Surg units
Position Overview
Navitas Healthcare LLC is seeking an experienced LVN/LPN to support a Medical-Surgical overflow unit functioning as a flexible Med/Surg Telemetry space. This role involves caring for ED boarders and general med-surg patients in a dynamic high-turnover hospital environment under RN supervision.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in Med/Surg Tele overflow unit
- Monitor vital signs and report condition changes
- Assist with admissions transfers and discharges
- Perform wound care and dressing changes
- Administer medications (oral IM SQ etc.)
- Support feeding tube and Foley catheter care
- Monitor intake/output and document in EPIC
- Assist with ADLs (mobility hygiene feeding)
- Collect specimens and perform phlebotomy
- Communicate patient updates to RN/MD
Unit Details
- Unit Type: Med/Surg Tele Overflow (ED boarders support)
- Bed Size: 14-bed flex unit
- Patient Population: Adult & Geriatric
- Charting: EPIC
- Scrub Color: Navy blue / white
Required Qualifications
- Active NY State LPN/LVN License (Required in hand)
- Minimum 1 year Med/Surg or related experience
- EPIC EMR experience (Required)
- Strong bedside nursing and patient care skills
- Ability to work in high-turnover environment
- Willingness to float across units
Certifications
Preferred Qualifications
- Hospital-based experience
- Telemetry exposure
