Job Summary
As the Staff Engineer - Data Platform you will be driving technical design for enterprise data management platform. You will be supporting platform adoption and scale actions with engineering teams across platform team and broader Digital Analytics and Technology organization. By bringing deep technical expertise and knowledge of data platform use you will be able to bring cohesive and impactful platform outcomes to life.
This role is hybrid which means you will work some days at our corporate office in Richfield Minnesota and some daysvirtually fromhome or another non-Best Buy location. The specific work arrangements vary by role and team. The recruiter or hiring manager will provide more details during the hiring process.
What youll do
- Understanding technical gaps and platform opportunities clearly
- Use expertise and industry knowledge to influence technical vision
- Drive complex problem solving with cross-functional teams at different maturity levels
- Guide engineers with concrete methods and approaches to build quality at scale
- Balance technology and platform product goals to achieve a cohesive direction and execution
- 5 years of relevant experience with a Bachelors degree OR equivalent relevant professional experience
- 3 years of developing distributed data processing in any cloud provider
- 5 years hands on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- 5 years of performance tuning and optimization in Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- 5 years of hands-on programming/coding with technologies such as Java Python and SQL
Preferred qualifications
- 7 years of relevant professional experience
- 2 years of data modeling to optimize/tune for efficient data stores
- 2 years of reporting tools such as power bi tableau looker studio
