Cytotechnologist PRN Per Diem

Labcorp is seeking a PRN/Per Diem Cytotechnologist to join our team inLakewood CO.

Work Schedule: This is a casual PRN/Per Diem position. Flexible hours and days up to 24 hours/week.

Job Responsibilities:

• Screen and evaluate any gynecologic and non-gynecologic specimens sent to the laboratory for the determination of possible malignant or related abnormal conditions

• Screening of all liquid based cytology both manual and imaged as well as conventional slides

• Perform microscopic evaluation of cytological specimens following laboratory procedures and policies

• Ensure proper documentation of workload recording including screening and non-screening activities as required by CLIA and laboratory guidelines

• Maintain absolute integrity in theaccurateperformance and reporting of results

• Meet slide screening requirements as per standard operating procedure

• Finalize testing results into the computer inan accurateandtimelymanner

• Provide backup for cytology processing and other tasks as needed

• Comply withall safety infectioncontroland HIPAA policies

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in a Chemical or Biological Science Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology

• Completion of an accredited Cytology program

• ASCP Cytotechnologist (CT) Certification

• ThinPrep certification

PreferredQualification:

• Current or prior Labcorp experience

• 1 yearoremoreof prior experience working in Cytology

Additional Job Standards

• Demonstrated understanding ofCytopreparation techniques

• Automated and non-automated testing experience

• Familiarity with laboratory information systems (LIS)

• Able topass slide screening requirements and annual CAPproficiencytest

• Ability to work independently or within a team

• Highly organized and strong attention to detail

• Strong communicationskills; both written and verbal

• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test

**Pay Range: $45.00 - 50.00 / hour
