About the Role

North Coast Local Land Services are keen to hear from leaders interested in contributing to the Strategic direction and delivery of North Coast programs. The Team Leader supports the strategic development and implementation of staff community and stakeholder focused engagement facilitates regional planning decision making and partnership development that achieves the regions Local Strategic Plan priorities including natural resource management agriculture biosecurity emergency management and travelling stock reserve management. The role manages a team of eight staff across strategic planning and investment MERI engagement Natural Heritage Trust coordination and delivery including Climate Smart Ag outcomes and aboriginal engagement and outcomes.

Within this role you will:

  • Develop and deliver high quality products and services to both internal and external customers and stakeholders.
  • Negotiate and facilitate relationships with key stakeholders to leverage opportunities that deliver regional outcomes.
  • Secure external funds engage with customers and deliver commercial services to achieve outcomes in natural asset protection sustainable agriculture invasive species control and biosecurity.
  • Provide timely relevant and actionable market intelligence and advice on trends and developments.
  • Lead reporting monitoring evaluation and improvement processes.
  • Prepare communication materials for engagement with LLS and the implementation and regional delivery
  • Ensure that planning engagement and delivery outcomes are consistent with agreed priorities plans standards.
  • Encourage an agile and responsive strategic partner approach with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Lead Aboriginal participation in LLS business improved understanding and application of traditional land management practices engage Aboriginal communities and increase awareness of and sensitivity to Aboriginal cultural heritage.

About You
Our ideal candidate will have:

  • Excellent communication skills to engage and collaborate with key internal and external stakeholders and build partnerships;
  • Strong negotiation and problem solving skills;
  • Skills to lead planning reporting monitoring evaluation and improvement processes.
  • A passion to develop and implement innovative solutions to complex natural resource management issues;
  • A working knowledge of the legislative and policy framework underpinning natural resource management in NSW;
  • Have a Current NSW Class C Driver;
  • Skills to lead a multidisciplinary team to work together with a range of external and internal stakeholders
