Network Functions:
- Maintains network performance by monitoring and analysis performance tuning troubleshooting network problems and escalating problems to vendors
- Implement network best practices while documenting and updating the IT wiki with findings and network changes
- Replace and modify network hardware such as routers switches firewalls printers VoIP phones and other network related and/or capable devices
- Develop and maintain network routing protocols and routing configurations that meet the minimum standards prescribed by law defined by best practices or by this agency
- Solve tier 2/3 support request such as networking hardware issues elevated support desk request and server administration issues/changes
- Oversee VPN administration and user access such as user additions removals and changes
- Support QA/IS teams by assisting planning meeting and creating documentation describing measures taken by Javitch Block to meet security compliance needs
Training/Experience/Skills:
- Knowledge of OSI model Level 2/3 switches and Vlan
- Experience with Meraki Cisco FirePower HP ProCurve switches and iSCSI networks preferred
- Ability to develop and configure VPN technologies
- Ability to manage Windows Servers and operating systems
- Experience administrating Exchange and VMWare / Hyper-V / Azure
- Knowledge of VoIP telephone systems
- Minimum 3 years of network administration experience
- Ability to communicate written and orally in a professional manner
- Works well in a team setting
- Strong analytical & project management skills with the ability to work on simultaneous tasks in a complex technical work environment
Education
- Preferred Education: Bachelors Degree in information technology or related field
- Preferred Certifications: Microsoft Certified System Engineer (MCSE); Microsoft Certified System Administrator (MCSA); Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
