Manager, Accounting Consolidations

Job Summary
As the Accounting Manager- Consolidations you will be at the forefront of ensuring the financial integrity of our highly matrixed organization. You will manage and guide the consolidation process for the entire company while maintaining accurate ledger accounts implementing internal controls and collaborating with various finance teams and leadership. Your responsibilities will extend to assisting with financial reporting overseeing audits and contributing to strategic initiatives while managing 1 direct report.
Position location: Deerfield IL (Flexibility to work from home Mondays and Fridays)
RESPONSIBLIITIES:
What you will be doing
- Manage the close and consolidation process across teams and review US GAAP consolidated results for timely high-quality communication.
- Review and post consolidation journal entries and reconciliations ensuring accuracy and compliance in a global consolidation of 100 legal entities.
- Own the global intercompany processes and lead the resolution of intercompany discrepancies.
- Manage develop and coach a direct report providing regular feedback and participating in talent and performance reviews.
- Prepare month-end actual results reporting including financial statements and key supplemental data.
- Perform detailed review of the statement of cash flows as part of the monthly close process.
- Assist with quarter-end and year-end external reporting including drafting certain sections of the Form 10-Q and Form 10-K consolidating and reviewing disclosure support provided by the BU accounting teams and completing the financial statement disclosure checklist to ensure all required disclosures are included within the SEC filings.
- Perform monthly review of foreign currency impacts on the financial results.
- Lead or support team projects and initiatives including process documentation data management and system optimization.
- Review the subsidiary and consolidated financial information and unique transactions and participate in meetings discussing analysis with leadership.
- Support the oversight of global chart of accounts.
- Drive the close cycle automation initiative intended to condense the close cycle reduce manual work and improve controllership.
- Maintain effective internal controls for the financial close ensuring SOX compliance and reducing financial risk.
- Perform other ad-hoc tasks as needed.
Qualifications :
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting Finance or related field required
- 6 years of public accounting or industry accounting experience required. 10 years of experience preferred.
- Must have a high degree of technical knowledge of US GAAP and internal controls
- Organizational Savvy. Maneuver comfortably through complex policy process and people related organizational dynamics
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- CPA or MBA
- Experience with Oracle Cloud Products (EPM)
- People management experience

Fortune Brands believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is Hiring Pay Range: $90000 USD - $143000 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range or be above or below the range based on factors including but not limited to education training experience professional achievement business need and addition to base salary employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance or a role-based sales incentive plan.
