As a Full-Time Maintenance Technician at the YMCA Storer Camps youll be the cornerstone of our welcoming environment ensuring every guest is greeted by a well-maintained facility. Youll collaborate closely with the Property Manager to uphold and enhance our camp properties tackling a variety of exciting tasks that include everything from minor electrical work to painting and roofing. Your expertise will ensure that our equipment and grounds are in top-notch condition adhering to safety standards while working on construction projects and repairs.
Plus youll have the unique opportunity to assist with farming and tree harvesting adding a refreshing twist to your maintenance role. By maintaining accurate records of all maintenance activities youll help us sustain our commitment to a safe and inviting space for all!

To thrive as a Full-Time Maintenance Technician at YMCA Storer Camps youll need a diverse skill set and a hands-on approach. A minimum of 18 years old a valid drivers license and a clean driving record are essential along with the ability to pass a background check. Ideally youll bring at least three years of experience in facility maintenance painting or carpentry showcasing your strong knowledge of building maintenance and repairs including HVAC and plumbing systems. Familiarity with hand and power tools as well as minor electrical repairs is crucial for success. You should also be comfortable working physically through various taskslifting 80-100 lbs. climbing ladders and using machinery.
Being highly organized detail-oriented and possessing good problem-solving abilities will ensure you tackle challenges effectively. Strong verbal and written communication skills will also enhance your collaboration with team members and contribute to maintaining our high safety and operational standards.
Knowledge and skills required for the position are:
- Minimum age of 18 years old with a valid drivers license and good driving record and ability to pass background check.
- Preferred minimum of 3 years of experience in facility maintenance painting carpentry or related field. Good working knowledge of building maintenance and facility equipment repairs to include but not limited to basic HVAC plumbing operating heavy equipment minor electrical repairs; and the knowledge to maintain building code and operational compliance.
- Strong background in painting and general repairs preferred.
- A general knowledge of the use of hand and power tools and the ability to understand mechanical systems.
- Physical ability to work with machinery and basic construction and farming equipment.
- The position requires sitting standing walking the use of ladders and kneeling for extended periods of time climbing stairs bending leaning stooping.
- Physical ability to lift 80-100 lbs. safely and operate various motorized equipment necessary to perform the job.
- Must be highly organized and detail oriented.
- Good problem solving and mechanical skills.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
