Description of Work
The North Carolina Community College System Office seeks a Director of Operations to join their Information Technology Team. This strategic leadership role is responsible for the enterprise resource planning technology solutions operated maintained and supported by the System Office. These solutions provide business automation for the System Office the 58 North Carolina Community Colleges federal state and local partners and over 500000 students staff and faculty. This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly skilled team of application developers cybersecurity experts and innovative higher education leaders focused on transforming service delivery using advanced modern technologies from leading vendors in the higher education space.Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences
The Director of Operations position requires proven leadership in managing a team of talented seasoned application developers and systems administrators who are subject matter experts in Ellucian Colleague and Ellucian Banner and related technical and functional domain areas.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
Sets the ERP Operations Units mission and direction to align with I&O and organizational strategic needs.
Experience managing ERP systems staff and integrations
Knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle and software release management
Develop policies procedures and/or guidelines for operations staff
Strong written and oral communication organizational and servant leadership skills
Preferences: Ellucian Colleague or Banner ERP; Backup and Disaster Recovery Planning; Agile and /or ITIL-based service management; Artificial Intelligence; Industry-Recognized Professional Certifications

Bachelors degree in computer science or an IT related field or a closely related field from an appropriately accredited institution and four years of progressive experience in systems software programming;
or Associate degree in computer science or an IT related field or a closely related field from an appropriately accredited institution and five years of progressive experience in systems software programming;
or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
EHRA positions are exempt from the State Human Resources Act. This means your employment terms are governed by policies specific to the University and the UNC System rather than the states SHRA guidelines. . EHRA appointments may be at-will or for a defined term depending on your role type (faculty research or administrative).
