WDG Public Health is a hybrid work environment. Certain employee groups may be permitted to work hybrid based on the nature of the position and program. A minimum expectation of onsite presence is required which will be dependent on operational needs.

As a member of the Data & Analytics team the Health Promotion Specialist participates in the planning coordination implementation analysis and evaluation of health promotion strategies and programs. These strategies include community development program planning and evaluation coalition building inter-community collaboration policy development social marketing health communications knowledge translation and population health assessment
Areas of Responsibility include:
Provide health promotion expertise in research planning implementation evaluation and knowledge translation of assigned program areas to support the work of the Agency.
Engage internal and external stakeholders in the development of community-based health promotion strategies.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with other community-based health social and education agencies professional groups and business as appropriate to assignment.
Facilitate community mobilization and build community capacity with partners around shared health priorities.
Provide health promotion technical expertise to community coalitions and organizations that partner with public health.
Contribute to policy development and planning activities that reflects community needs.
Coordinate assigned project activities including work plans timelines deliverables monitoring and reporting.
Monitor program activities to assess and improve their implementation and effectiveness including data collection analysis and reporting of indicators and outcomes.
Ensure the maintenance of statistics and data for the purpose of monitoring evaluation and planning of health promotion initiatives.
Plan organize and conduct educational workshops in-services presentations webinars and partner sessions for staff and the community.
Identify and develop educational materials reports dashboards summaries infographics web content and other knowledge translation products.
Support health data integration and EMR-related initiatives through partner engagement documentation data quality review and development of tools and processes.

Monday to Friday 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM

Requirements:
Masters degree in Public Health Health Promotion Health Sciences or a related discipline;
Minimum 2 years experience in project planning and coordination research evaluation knowledge mobilization public policy development and community development and mobilization;
Experience and expertise in additional health promotion strategies including health communication coalition building advocacy community engagement and facilitation of evidence informed planning;
Demonstrated competencies in research and evaluation (qualitative and/or quantitative) research ethics epidemiology statistics and associated computer software;
Experience with Microsoft Office products such as Excel Word PowerPoint and related applications;
Experience with survey platforms business intelligence tools project management tools or electronic medical record systems is an asset;
Ability to analyze and interpret population health data in accordance with established principles and methods;
Excellent presentation skills written and verbal communications and group facilitation skills;
Ability to develop reports presentations summaries educational resources and other communication materials for diverse audiences;
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal teams community partners school boards health system partners and other stakeholders;
Demonstrated project management skills organization computer skills and attention to detail;
Ability to work with diverse groups and apply principles of health equity and the social determinants of health.
