Job Summary:

The Catering Sales Manager will lead sales and coordinate catering events at the Science Museum of Minnesota driving revenue through strategic client partnerships and exceptional event planning. This role will manage the full sales cycle from prospecting and client consultations to contract execution and event follow-through. The manager will collaborate closely with culinary operations and marketing teams to deliver high-quality events that align with the museums brand and client expectations while maximizing profitability.

Experience:

  • 35 years of experience in catering sales hospitality sales or event management
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales and revenue targets
  • Experience managing client relationships and executing high-volume or high-profile events
  • Proficiency with sales and event management systems (e.g. Delphi Tripleseat or similar CRM tools)
  • Experience developing proposals contracts and pricing structures
  • Knowledge of food and beverage operations including banquet and catering services
  • Bachelors degree in Hospitality Management Business Marketing or related field preferred

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Hospitality Management Business Administration Marketing or a related field (preferred)
  • 35 years of experience in catering sales event sales or hospitality management
  • Experience using sales and event management software (e.g. Delphi Tripleseat or similar CRM systems)
  • Strong knowledge of catering operations banquet service and food and beverage standards
  • Ability to develop proposals contracts and pricing packages for events
  • Experience managing multiple events and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of budgeting forecasting and revenue management practices
  • Familiarity with health safety and sanitation regulations in food service operations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel PowerPoint Outlook)
