We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Resident District Manager (RDM) to lead a large-scale Integrated Facilities Management (IFM) portfolio supporting a multi-campus higher education environment.
This is a senior executive leadership role responsible for overseeing all aspects of campus facilities operations including physical plant custodial services grounds energy management environmental health & safety and capital projects.
The RDM serves as the primary executive liaison to university leadership including C-suite executives trustees and senior administrators ensuring the built environment fully supports academic excellence sustainability objectives and long-term capital strategy.
This role requires a highly experienced IFM leader with strong financial stewardship union workforce leadership and executive-level stakeholder influence.
Key Responsibilities
Act as the senior executive point of contact for a complex multi-site university account
Partner with university leadership to define and execute long-term facilities strategy capital planning and operational priorities
Lead and manage a full Integrated Facilities Management organization (operations custodial grounds EH&S energy and construction)
Oversee $9M combined operating and capital budgets ensuring financial discipline forecasting accuracy and contract compliance
Develop multi-year capital plans and lifecycle asset strategies aligned with institutional goals
Provide executive oversight of all campus operations ensuring safety reliability and service excellence
Lead major construction renovation and infrastructure projects from planning through completion
Manage and develop a large unionized workforce ensuring performance engagement and compliance
Build strong relationships with C-suite leaders faculty staff students and labor representatives
Ensure adherence to company policies operational standards and client expectations
Qualifications & Requirements
Bachelors degree or equivalent experience required
Minimum 5 years in a Director-level role (required)
Minimum 10 years of experience in Integrated Facilities Management or large-scale complex operations preferred
Proven experience in higher education or campus environments (required)
Strong background in multi-disciplinary IFM operations (physical plant custodial grounds EH&S energy construction)
Demonstrated ownership of multi-million-dollar operating and capital budgets
Executive-level stakeholder management experience including direct engagement with C-suite or equivalent leadership
Strong financial acumen including budgeting forecasting and contract governance
Proven ability to lead unionized teams and large diverse operational organizations
Exceptional communication and presentation skills in executive settings
