Location: This is an on-site role based in Virginia Beach VA.

Note: Must be admitted to practice law in Virginia. Medical malpractice defense experience is a plus but not required.

Job Description

• Represent clients in medical malpractice defense and complex litigation matters
• Conduct legal research and analysis to support case strategy motions discovery and trial preparation
• Draft pleadings discovery responses correspondence motions and other legal documents
• Take and defend depositions as appropriate based on experience level
• Assist with hearings depositions mediations expert work and trial preparation
• Manage case files deadlines documents and litigation calendars with strong attention to detail
• Work directly with partners and team members to evaluate facts develop defenses and move cases forward
• Communicate professionally with clients opposing counsel experts and internal team members

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school
• Active Virginia Bar admission required
• 0 years of litigation experience
• Medical malpractice defense healthcare litigation insurance defense or civil litigation experience preferred
• Strong legal research writing analytical and advocacy skills
• Excellent communication organization and time management skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a busy litigation environment
• High energy professionalism and a strong commitment to client service

  • 0-1 years relevant litigation experience: $100k-$115k

  • 2-3 years relevant litigation experience: $115k-$135k

  • 4 years directly relevant defense litigation or MedMal experience: $135k-$160k
