The Mechanical Maintenance Technician is a critical role in manufacturing facilities responsible for routine maintenance procedures and troubleshooting complex issues with production equipment. This position ensures equipment reliability and minimal downtime by diagnosing repairing and maintaining mechanical and electrical systems.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct repairs and preventive maintenance to minimize downtime of manufacturing equipment.
Troubleshoot and repair mechanical equipment electrical instruments control systems power systems and piping systems.
Document all maintenance activities resources used and closing codes.
Requisition repair parts under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor.
Perform maintenance in compliance with OSHA rules PSM guidelines and environmental regulations.
Monitor and adhere to maintenance KPIs.
Apply mechanical electrical pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting skills to repair production machines.
Support continuous improvement by actively developing technical skills.
Maintain clean and orderly work areas while complying with safety regulations.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required.
Minimum 12 years of maintenance manufacturing experience.
Knowledge of NEC (National Electrical Code) and NFPA 70E standards.
Ability to install new equipment or modify existing installations.
Familiarity with Statistical Process Control (SPC) tools such as control charts standard deviation and Cpk.
Mechanical skills: pneumatic schematics troubleshooting V-belt tensioning valves motors drive systems relays switches transformers and electrical enclosures.
