Job Summary
Performs advanced structural engineering and analysis tasks to support the design development testing and maintenance of complex systems including mechanical electronic and aerospace equipment. Acts as a technical lead on complex projects ensuring structural integrity performance and compliance with engineering standards.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform structural analysis design and evaluation for complex engineering systems
- Lead or support engineering projects involving research development testing and integration
- Develop detailed design specifications and perform engineering reviews
- Analyze engineering problems and propose solutions and improvements
- Conduct site investigations and experimental testing as required
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams including engineering logistics and program management
- Ensure compliance with engineering standards documentation and test procedures
- Prepare technical reports studies and documentation
- Support proposal development and provide technical input on project scope
- Interface with clients and stakeholders throughout project lifecycle
- Participate in design reviews and technical meetings as a subject matter expert
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Engineering (ABET-accredited)
- Typically 4 years of relevant experience (or Masters with 2 years)
- Strong knowledge of structural analysis and engineering principles
- Experience with engineering tools and computer-based analysis systems
- Ability to troubleshoot and solve complex engineering problems
- Strong analytical organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work under deadlines and manage multiple tasks
- Eligibility for security clearance may be required
