Position: Occupational Therapist Assistant (OTA)
Salary Range: $25-28 per hour
Hours: 30 hours per week Monday-Friday with weekend rotation
Job Description:
As an Occupational Therapist Assistant (OTA) you will work closely with our Occupational Therapist to provide high-quality therapy services to our residents. Your primary responsibility will be to assist in the implementation of individualized treatment plans for residents with physical mental and developmental disabilities. You will play a crucial role in helping our residents regain their functional abilities and improve their overall well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Occupational Therapist in evaluating residents functional abilities and developing individualized treatment plans
- Implement treatment plans under the supervision of the Occupational Therapist including therapeutic exercises activities and modalities
- Monitor and document residents progress and report any changes to the Occupational Therapist
- Educate residents and their families on therapeutic techniques and home exercise programs
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care for residents
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of treatment sessions and resident progress
- Adhere to all state and federal regulations and facility policies and procedures
Qualifications:
- Associates degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant program
- Previous experience in a skilled nursing facility or long-term care setting preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care
- Basic computer skills and proficiency in electronic medical records
