Job Title: Physician - Neonatology
Join a dynamic and collaborative neonatal care team in Kansas City Missouri as a Board Certified/Board Eligible Neonatologist. This full-time position offers the opportunity to provide advanced in-house NICU coverage across multiple facilities within a reputable health system. With a primary focus on delivering exceptional care you will support a well-established neonatal team known for its commitment to excellence in patient outcomes.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide in-house neonatal care coverage at the main Level-IIIB NICU (49 beds).
- Manage critically ill neonates using advanced therapies including:
- Inhaled nitric oxide (iNO)
- High-frequency oscillatory ventilation (HFOV)
- High-frequency jet ventilation (HFJV)
- Therapeutic hypothermia
- Caring for extremely low gestational age newborns (ELGAN) including infants as young as 22 weeks.
- Support over 450 annual NICU admissions with an average daily census of 30.
- Collaborate with a team of board-certified neonatologists and neonatal nurse practitioners.
- Provide oversight or support to:
- A 15-bed Level-IIIA NICU
- A growing Level-II NICU
- Well-baby care units
- Participate in out-of-house coverage supported by telehealth services.
- Engage in quality improvement (QI) initiatives within the practice.
- Opportunity to pursue individual clinical or academic interests.
- Contribute to regional delivery services and neonatal care coordination.
Qualifications:
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine.
- Missouri Medical License (or willingness to obtain).
- Clean malpractice/license history (highly preferred).
- Eligibility for visa support (J1 or H1B) if required.
- Most recent NPDB Self Query Report (within 30 days active).
- DEA certification (must be obtained prior to start).
License and Certification Requirements:
- Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine certification (implied via BC/BE Neonatologist requirement).
- Missouri Medical License (or willingness to obtain).
