Shift & Schedule:
- Day Shift
- 5x8-Hour Shifts (40 hours/week)
- Weekend Requirement: As per facility needs
- Holiday Requirement: As per facility needs
- Onsite Role (No remote flexibility)
Job Summary:We are seeking a skilled Ophthalmic Technician to support clinical operations in a fast-paced outpatient eye care setting. This role involves performing diagnostic testing assisting physicians and ensuring efficient patient flow while maintaining high standards of patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform preliminary ophthalmic testing including visual fields tonometry color vision and ocular motility assessments
- Assist physicians with examinations procedures and documentation
- Obtain and record patient medical and personal history
- Prepare patients for exams and minor procedures
- Clean sterilize and prepare ophthalmic instruments
- Maintain and troubleshoot ophthalmic equipment (e.g. slit lamp tonometer keratometer)
- Coordinate lab tests imaging and surgical scheduling as needed
- Ensure exam rooms are stocked and organized
- Provide patient education and support regarding procedures and treatments
- Assist with laser treatments and minor in-office procedures
Requirements:
- Prior experience as an Ophthalmic Technician preferred
- Experience in eye care or outpatient specialty clinics preferred
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- High attention to detail and accuracy in clinical tasks
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED required
Certifications & Licensure:
- Ophthalmic Technician Certification (required)
