As a Senior Writeronthe GrassrootsEditorial Teamyoullplay a key role incrafting clear concise and compelling communications thatempower millions of people across the country to advocate for policy changes that get results.

Youllwrite across platforms for Stand Together and key partners like Americans for Prosperity (AFP) AFP Action The LIBRE Initiative and Concerned Veterans for America helping to drive societal change through effective storytelling that emphasizes aligning the keyinstitutions of government to their proper roles.

This role requires5 years of relevant experience ingrassroots politics journalism or political communicationsincluding elections-related workand the ability to translate complex ideas into clear narratives and a strong understanding of tone and audience. (Additional experienceisa plus.)

Youllneed to be entrepreneurial feedback-friendly results-oriented and have a strong eye for accuracy and brevity. You must alsodemonstratea clear understanding of the political and electoral landscape and our diverse stakeholders nuanced messaging while continuallyhoningyour craftand helping others do the sameby:

Helpingshape editorial strategyfor key programs and partnersidentifyingopportunities to strengthen messaging consistency and impact across channels.

Providingediting coaching and mentorshipto other writers strengthening quality voice and speed to execution.

Servingas a strategic partnerto internal stakeholders(elections policy government affairs etc.) clarifying goalsadvising onapproach and aligning content to priorities.

How You Will Contribute

Write high-impact contentincluding emails blog posts direct mail reports and event communications that inspire grassroots advocates and donor audiences.

Develop messaging that clearly conveys StandTogethersand AFPs perspectives on key issues like elections the economy health care immigration and the role of government.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams including elections policy and government affairsteamsto inform communications strategy and align content with organizational goals.

Adapt to evolving priorities with a self-driven entrepreneurial mindset and a commitment to results includingthe creative destruction of outdated systems.

Deliver persuasisive content on tight deadlines whilemaintainingaccuracy clarity and consistency.

What You Will Bring

5 years of writing experiencein grassroots advocacy journalism or political communications including elections-related work along with exceptional writing editing and proofreading skills and a demonstrated ability to create persuasive content that supports fundraising campaign and marketing goals.

Proven ability to simplify complex policy and strategic conceptsinto compelling audience-tailored narratives across formats and platforms aligned with brand voice and content strategy.

A collaborative cross-functional mindset with experience navigating fast-paced matrixed environmentsdefining deliverables managing competing priorities and consistently meeting deadlines.

Strategic insight and entrepreneurial drive with a deep understanding of the state and federal policy landscape and the ability to connect daily writing tasks to long-term organizational impact.
