Job Summary
Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Med/Surg
Location: Brooklyn NY
Assignment Type: Contract
Weekly Hours: 36 Hours
Pay Range (Local): Up to $2100.00 Weekly
Pay Range (Traveler): Up to $2600.00 Weekly (Stipend Included)
Schedule
- Shift: Day Shift 3 shifts/week (11.5-hour shifts)
- Hours: 36 hours/week
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (Mandatory)
Position Overview
Navitas Healthcare LLC is seeking experienced Registered Nurses (RN) with a strong Med/Surg background to support a high-acuity Emergency Services Adult unit. This role requires managing a high patient census handling admissions from the Emergency Department and delivering high-quality bedside care in a fast-paced hospital environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess plan and implement individualized patient care plans
- Provide bedside care for medical and post-surgical patients
- Manage admissions from the Emergency Department
- Administer medications and monitor patient responses
- Perform IV therapy wound care and catheter management
- Monitor vital signs and escalate changes in patient condition
- Assist with discharge planning and patient education
- Maintain accurate documentation (EPIC preferred)
- Follow infection control protocols and hospital standards
Required Qualifications
- Active New York State RN License (Required)
- Minimum 2 years recent Med/Surg acute care experience
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
- Experience with IV therapy wound care and medication administration
- Comfortable working in high-acuity high-volume settings
- Experience with ED admissions preferred
- EPIC EMR experience preferred
Certifications
- BLS (AHA Required)
- ACLS (Preferred / Required for certain units)
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) Minimum required
