This position is for a CPMT leader role on Fords 3.0L Nano engine program. The specific areas / sub-systems of responsibility would be within the base engine / long block and would be defined at the point of employment and joining the base engine team based on the successful candidates skill set and experience coupled with the skill set of the existing team. Examples of the base engine / long block sub-systems are; Cyl Block Heads PCV Sealing Covers Valvetrain VCTs Cam Drive Piston and Rod Crankshaft Bearings Oil pump & Lubrication Cooling Fuel FEAD Ignition Etc.



Responsibilities

What youll do...

  • Lead new/forward model product development of the base engine sub system for new engine platforms
  • Design develop and release components
  • Lead/Support resolution of major design manufacturing program and launch issues as they arise
  • Create complete and approve supplier and Ford engine DVPs and oversee testing in support of robust validation
    • Lead Sub System CPMT activities.
    • Support all program meetings (EPMT Design Review DPMT change control etc.).
  • Lead drawing releases and changes.
  • Interface with Calibration mating components Purchasing suppliers and mfg/assembly plants.
  • Prototype Build coordination: load forward model part numbers into system and ensure fit and function.
  • Work directly with suppliers Supplier Technical Assistance (STA) and launch teams to PPAP new components support programs and resolve quality issues
    • Travel to suppliers and engine plants for launch and quality support including both domestic and international travel as needed.
  • WERS (Worldwide engineering release system) coordination; alerts concerns and notice processing.
  • Develop and maintain CPMT documents including appropriate quality documents (ESOW DFMEA PTDV e3P SCCAFs Global Integrator PPAP & PSWs 543 Chart etc.) for program specific sub-system responsibilities.


Qualifications

Youll have...

Minimum Requirements:

  • B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • 3 years of Design and Release Experience
  • The D&R Engineer is responsible for managing product release CAD and BOM structures including assembly positioning and mass attribute analysis. This role also includes facilitating supplier data integration and developing CAD studies to support and drive design improvements.
  • Strong communication organization and problem solving skills
  • Strong leadership ability able to interact effectively with multiple internal and external stakeholder
  • Technical expertise/experience with Gasoline internal combustion engines specifically base engine design and release

Even better if you have

Preferred

  • Six Sigma experience
  • Base engine testing experience
  • 1D & 3D simulation methodologies Both and Static and Dynamic

This position is a salary grade 6-8 and ranges from $74300 - $166200.

Final determination of salary grade will be based on candidates skills and experience and base salary will be set within the applicable range according to job scope responsibility and competitive market value.
