Job Summary

About the role

Logistics department takes care of the inbound of all the vehicles that are imported from HQ and other factories in Europe; and also the distribution of those products within whole European countries. Logistics department is responsible for finding the best solutions for all logistics problems in the automotive division. Logistics role is key to the success of the fulfilment to customers and orders.

Key Responsibilities:

Inbound Management:

  • Plan the logistics process from BYD Benelux and China factories to Romania & Bulgaria compounds ensuring all incoming shipments are handled efficiently and on time. This includes daily coordination with multiple logistics service providers and planning team to optimize transport costs while ensuring timely arrivals by selecting the most suitable mode of transportation.

Outbound Management:

  • Manage the distribution of vehicles to dealers across Romania & Bulgaria ensuring timely high-quality deliveries. This includes overseeing fulfillment orders ensuring that customer and dealer requirements are met efficiently.

  • Proactively communicate with logistics partners and dealers to guarantee smooth operations resolve potential issues and provide updates on order statuses.

  • Cross-Functional Communication: Maintain effective communication with internal teams across Europe colleagues in BYD China HQ Logistics Service Providers (LSPs) and dealers to ensure seamless operations.

  • System Operations: Work with CRM ERP SAP and other systems to control processes for cargo movement financial reporting and data tracking.

  • Real-Time Information Management: Organize and provide up-to-date information on Purchase Orders (POs) and deliveries for all stakeholders.

  • Continuous Process Improvement: Identify and implement improvements in logistics workflows to enhance efficiency and service levels.

  • Cost Control: Monitor and manage logistics costs ensuring the selection of the most efficient and cost-effective transport and distribution solutions.

Main Tasks:

  • Coordinate daily communication with dealers logistics colleagues and LSPs.

  • Arrange and oversee local transport as well as transport from EU ports to the national compound selecting the most suitable suppliers and modes (trucking ocean shipping or both).

  • Monitor the real-time status of shipments and transportation through regular contact with LSPs.

  • Handle and deliver commercial documents (e.g. invoices) to the relevant parties.

  • Responsible for obtaining internal approvals for payments and processes.

  • Maintain and update data within systems (CRM ERP SAP) and offline tools like Excel.

  • Participate in setting up and maintaining the BYD logistics supplier list.

  • Attend monthly review meetings with logistics suppliers to assess performance and explore improvements.

  • Prepare and manage paperwork for both internal and external purposes.

  • Monitor and resolve potential bottlenecks exploring ways to optimize workflows.

  • Provide general support for logistics-related procedures when needed.

Required skills qualifications and experience

  • Bachelors degree in Automotive Engineering Business Administration or a related field is a plus

  • At least 5 years of professional experience including a minimum of 3 years in logistics and operations within the automotive or mobility industry.

  • Oral / written fluency in English Chinese would be a plus

  • Strong data collection and analytical skills with the ability to extract and present critical insights.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with an analytical mindset.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a multi-national cross-functional environment.

  • Able to prioritize and work proactively with efficient time management skills.

  • Results-oriented with a hands-on approach and strong motivation to meet deadlines and deliver outcomes.

  • Valid driving license B is a plus
