Cybersecurity Consultant (DLP & Proofpoint Specialist) Pre-System

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Cybersecurity Consultant with a deep background in Data Loss Prevention (DLP) and specialized expertise in the Proofpoint ecosystem. This role is pivotal in optimizing our current security posture redefining our internal operating model and leading critical migrations. The ideal candidate will act as a strategic advisor and technical lead for our email security and data protection initiatives.

• Conduct a comprehensive audit of Proofpoint version 8.22.2.
• Evaluate existing rules policy configurations and the overall architectural setup to identify gaps or performance bottlenecks.
• Provide actionable recommendations for hardening and optimization.

• Consult on the design and implementation of a robust Proofpoint Operating Model.
• Define RACI Matrix: Clearly outline roles and responsibilities across stakeholders.
• Support Structure: Establish clear escalation paths and define workflows for 1st and 2nd line support teams to ensure operational efficiency.

• Analyze the current ServiceDesk-first routing model to identify inefficiencies.
• Design and implement self-service options and automation workflows to reduce ServiceDesk dependency.
• Streamline request handling and incident resolution processes to improve end-user experience.

• Valimail Transition: Lead the migration of Valimail-based services to Proofpoint. This is a critical path item that must be completed prior to the November 2026 contract expiry.
• URL Defense Migration: Transition the environment from Microsoft SafeLinks to Proofpoint URL Rewrites ensuring seamless integration and minimal disruption to end-users.

• DLP Expertise: Proven track record of managing and consulting on enterprise-grade Data Loss Prevention programs.
• Proofpoint Mastery: Advanced technical knowledge of Proofpoint services (specifically Protection TAP and DLP modules). Experience with version 8.x is essential.
• Email Authentication: Strong understanding of DMARC DKIM and SPF particularly in the context of migrating from Valimail.
• Process Improvement: Experience in ITIL frameworks specifically in designing support tiers and automation for security operations.
• Near-shore Availability: Ability to work within Insert Specific Time Zone e.g. CET/EST hours to ensure close collaboration with the core team.

• Experience transitioning from Microsoft 365 native security tools (SafeLinks) to third-party providers.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical requirements into business-level Operating Model documentation.
• Project management mindset regarding the November 2026 hard deadline.
