Key Responsibilities:
Design electrical controllers that meet or exceed safety code requirements including compliance with ASME A17.1 and A17.5 elevator standards
Learn maintain and enhance existing hardware and firmware systems
Design and develop microcontroller-based mixed-signal circuit boards and systems
Identify and implement product improvements to enhance performance reliability and cost efficiency
Evaluate and source alternative components that meet or exceed current specifications
Create detailed CAD drawings using Draftsight and/or PCB design tools
Support production by developing test fixtures documentation and work instructions
Develop and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) for new and existing products
Ensure compliance with relevant codes standards and best practices
Provide technical support and collaborate with cross-functional teams
Prepare technical documentation reports and project updates
Required Qualifications:
Proven experience in embedded systems development across both hardware and firmware
Strong experience in microcontroller/microprocessor-based system design and programming
Proficiency in writing and documenting code in Assembly and at least one high-level programming language
Experience with Microchip development environments coding and testing
Hands-on experience in circuit design schematic capture and PCB layout (Altium Designer preferred)
Solid understanding of mechanical systems particularly in elevator or lift applications
Proficiency in MS Office (Word Excel PowerPoint)
Minimum 5 years of experience working with electronic control systems
Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
Willingness to stay updated with industry trends and technologies
Physical ability to handle tasks involving movement lifting and extended standing when required
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience working with an elevator or lift system manufacturer
Experience with display integration and high-speed communication systems
Knowledge of AC and DC electrical systems
Experience working with Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)
