Job Summary
Role: System Safety Engineer
Location: Greensboro NC (Onsite)
Duration: Contract (Full-Time)
Job Description:
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in aerospace engineering Systems Engineering or a related field.
- 3 years of experience in system safety engineering preferably in the aerospace industry.
- Familiarity with safety standards such as ARP4761 ARP4754A DO-178C and DO-254.
- Experience with safety analysis tools (e.g. Fault Tree CAFTA or similar).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Masters degree in engineering or a related discipline.
- Experience with aircraft certification processes.
- Familiarity with the management of safety requirements in DOORS or similar software.
- Familiarity with FAA Part 23 airworthiness standards.
- Knowledge of model-based systems engineering (MBSE) tools and practices.

- Lead the charge in ensuring the safety of Honda Aircraft products by applying systems engineering principles to identify and eliminate hazards reducing associated risks throughout their lifecycle.
- Perform system safety analyses including Functional Hazard Analysis (FHA) Preliminary System Safety Assessments (PSSA) System Safety Assessments (SSA) and Common Cause Analysis (CCA).
- Collaborate with design reliability and certification teams to ensure safety requirements are met.
- Participate in design reviews providing critical safety-related input.
- Utilize innovative approaches to solve complex and challenging problems.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of safety processes and tools.
