Role: System Safety Engineer
Location: Greensboro NC (Onsite)
Duration: Contract (Full-Time)

Job Description:

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in aerospace engineering Systems Engineering or a related field.
  • 3 years of experience in system safety engineering preferably in the aerospace industry.
  • Familiarity with safety standards such as ARP4761 ARP4754A DO-178C and DO-254.
  • Experience with safety analysis tools (e.g. Fault Tree CAFTA or similar).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in engineering or a related discipline.
  • Experience with aircraft certification processes.
  • Familiarity with the management of safety requirements in DOORS or similar software.
  • Familiarity with FAA Part 23 airworthiness standards.
  • Knowledge of model-based systems engineering (MBSE) tools and practices.
  • Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the charge in ensuring the safety of Honda Aircraft products by applying systems engineering principles to identify and eliminate hazards reducing associated risks throughout their lifecycle.
  • Perform system safety analyses including Functional Hazard Analysis (FHA) Preliminary System Safety Assessments (PSSA) System Safety Assessments (SSA) and Common Cause Analysis (CCA).
  • Collaborate with design reliability and certification teams to ensure safety requirements are met.
  • Participate in design reviews providing critical safety-related input.
  • Utilize innovative approaches to solve complex and challenging problems.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of safety processes and tools.
  • Take personal responsibility for your continued professional growth and development with full support from your manager.
