Job Summary
JOB SUMMARY: We are seeking an experienced Veeam Backup Engineer to support critical APAC shift
operations (00:00-08:00 UTC) for multi-site Veeam 12 deployments. As the primary engineer for Tier
2/3 rollout and surge support you will manage VBR proxies hardened Linux repositories Wasabi
cloud-tier integrations and Veeam ONE onboarding while ensuring 24x7 coverage. This high-impact
role offers opportunities to tackle complex backup infrastructure challenges collaborate with global
teams develop new skills in enterprise backup technologies and contribute to long-term runbook
improvements within a supportive delivery team.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Cover the APAC shift (00:00-08:00 UTC) and serve as primary engineer for Veeam deployments
across Mumbai Pune Lakhtar Bahrain and additional APAC sites during Tier 2/3 rollout.
Execute Veeam 12 deployments following L4-signed runbooks including VBR proxies hardened
Linux repositories Wasabi cloud-tier wiring and Veeam ONE Enterprise Manager onboarding.
Handle Veeam surge workload during peak weeks (approximately 175 extra hours within the
40-hour weekly commitment) to maintain 24x7 coverage.
Conduct daily 30-minute shift-handover standups with EMEA and US L3 teams using the
ticketing system as the single source of truth.
Provide escalation support and backup for Tier-1 HQ deployments within APAC scope as
needed.
Create APAC site acceptance documentation and contribute runbook enhancements to the L4
Architect.
Execute parallel ArcServe retirement activities for APAC sites during designated weeks.
Maintain hardened Linux repository configurations with XFS immutability and SSH lockdown
best practices.
Apply PowerShell and Bash scripting for automation tasks during deployments and operations.
QUALIFICATIONS:
5 years backup engineering experience with multi-site rollouts.
Bachelor's degree in IT Computer Science or related field.
Current VMCE certification and/or hands-on Veeam 12 deployment expertise.
Strong experience with hardened Linux repositories Wasabi/S3 immutable cloud-tier and
Veeam infrastructure.
Proficiency in PowerShell and Bash automation scripting.
Ability to commit to APAC shift schedule.
