As a Pathologist you will play a vital role in diagnosing diseases through the examination of tissues cells and bodily fluids. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure accurate diagnoses that inform patient treatment plans. Your expertise will directly impact patient outcomes and enhance the overall quality of care we provide.
Responsibilities
- Conduct diagnostic examinations of tissue and fluid samples
- Collaborate with physicians to discuss patient diagnoses and treatment plans
- Maintain accurate and thorough patient records
- Stay updated with advancements in pathology and medical practices
- Provide expert consultations to healthcare teams
- Participate in quality assurance and improvement initiatives
- Conduct research and contribute to publications in the field
- Educate and mentor medical staff and students
Requirements
- Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution
- Completion of residency in Pathology
- State medical license to practice in Florida
- Strong analytical and diagnostic skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
- Commitment to continuing education and professional development
- Experience in clinical pathology is a plus
Schedule: Monday-Friday
Call required
Duties: Contemporary hematopathology services that integrate morphological examination with Flow Cytometry Cytogenetics FISH and molecular genetics
Adult post-mortem exams are rare but possible
Tumor boards required
Team Structure: 14 total pathologists
Must be board-certified
