Responsibilities
Conduct diagnostic examinations of tissue and fluid samples
Collaborate with physicians to discuss patient diagnoses and treatment plans
Maintain accurate and thorough patient records
Stay updated with advancements in pathology and medical practices
Provide expert consultations to healthcare teams
Participate in quality assurance and improvement initiatives
Conduct research and contribute to publications in the field
Educate and mentor medical staff and students
Requirements
Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution
Completion of residency in Pathology
State medical license to practice in Florida
Strong analytical and diagnostic skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
Commitment to continuing education and professional development
Experience in clinical pathology is a plus
Schedule: Monday-Friday
Call required
Duties: Contemporary hematopathology services that integrate morphological examination with Flow Cytometry Cytogenetics FISH and molecular genetics
Adult post-mortem exams are rare but possible
Tumor boards required
Team Structure: 14 total pathologists
Must be board-certified
