Job Summary

Summary

This role supports Utility Operations by collecting and analyzing performance data from multiple systems maintaining KPI databases and producing monthly reports. It also includes preparation of presentation materials and briefing documents for senior leadership and NYPA Trustee meetings. Additionally the position documents and continuously improves reporting processes to streamline and enhance performance monitoring.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with data gathering processing and issuance of monthly Utility Operations Reports (KPI portfolio) including background information necessary to explain metric dynamics over time.
  • Provide support in preparation of materials for the Operations Trustee Report COO Report. Assist in preparation of presentation slides and briefing materials used by Operations Senior management during NYPA Trustee meetings. Facilitate communication with Executive and Secretary Offices.
  • Participate in preparation of presentation materials for periodic Utility Operations meetings.
  • Gather data from sources internal to NYPA to perform analyses issue reports and metrics in order to effectively monitor Operations performance and provide timely information on the departments ability to meet set targets.
  • Gather data from various software platforms GADS Maximo SAP Clearpoint to perform analyses and issue reports to NYPAs internal and external stakeholders. Maintain and update KPI databases.
  • Document existing and future processes in a form of structured document procedures.
  • Constantly review and propose modifications resulting in improvement and streamlining of current reporting practices.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

  • Basic ability to analyze large data sets and present in form of reporting metrics.
  • Ability to organize and summarize data to demonstrate performance against defined targets.
  • Ability to provide impartial and fact-based conclusions from the review of data provided.
  • Ability to support leadership to translate corporate and strategic objectives into defined targets for compliance and performance monitoring.
  • Open communication style to encourage honest and transparent communication of issues from project teams.
  • Clear and concise communication skills to explain what is required of projects in supporting corporate objectives.
  • Solution focused thinking to provide recommendations for performance improvement initiatives.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present complex information to senior Operations Management.
  • Ability to provide accurate reports summaries and electronic data to internal and external stakeholders in accordance with agreed upon deadlines and formats.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as a team in a manner that supports stakeholder consensus and ensure their continuing buy in and active engagement.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency with MS Excel.
  • Good working knowledge of MS Word and MS PowerPoint.
  • ClearPoint System MS Visio Tableau Power BI and MS Project knowledge desirable.

Education Experience and Certifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Accounting Finance Economics Statistical Analysis Engineering or the equivalent is required.
  • Analytical experience.
  • Utility related experience is preferred.

Physical Requirements

Limited travel (less than 15%) required primarily to our generating facilities.
