Project Overview
McCain is offering an internship within its European Agriculture team for a motivated student interested in the economics and strategy behind large-scale potato supply chains. The intern will work across multiple European markets including France the Netherlands Poland and Germany analyzing the factors that drive on-farm production economics and translating these into frameworks that support how McCain partners with its grower base.
This is a cross-functional role spanning procurement agronomy and sustainability with direct exposure to how a global food company manages its agricultural supply chain across diverse regulatory and market environments. The intern will design robustevidence-based analytical approaches using both public and proprietary data sources. The role also explores how regenerative farming practices particularly those improving nutrient efficiency water use and energy consumption create value across the supply chain.

Project Objectives
1. Analyze on-farm production economics across key European potato markets accounting for regional differences in farming systems input costs and market conditions
2. Identify evaluate and integrate reliable public and proprietary agricultural data sources and flag gaps in data availability
3. Build analytical frameworks that support strategic decision-making in how McCain engages with its European grower network
4. Design a scalable repeatable process for ongoing market and cost analysis enabling the Agriculture team to maintain current insights with minimal manual effort
5. Assess the economic implications of regenerative agriculture practices on production costs and supply chain value
