Job Summary

The Trauma/EGS Registry Data Coordinator develops implements and participates in trauma/EGS registry data entry practices that ensure accurate data timely data entry and timely reports to meet criteria for Level I Trauma Center requirements. The Coordinator is responsible for the daily collection and management of the trauma/EGS registry database. S/He acts as a member of the multidisciplinary trauma team to support patient quality and performance improvement initiatives and to submit data to state and national entities. The primary role is the collection abstraction and entering of clinical data for all trauma patients admitted to or evaluated by the trauma/EGS service. This will involve capturing and documenting approximately 150 elements of demographic and clinical information in the database per patient reporting query results to internal program staff assisting the Trauma Program Nurse Director with reporting to referring hospitals and working on enhancing the systems and data capture process.

Responsible to coordinate develop and maintain the departments databases related to their line of business. Also responsible for gathering and submitting pertinent data.
Works in close collaboration with the various leaders and other peers to collect compile and maintain information (statistics demographics).

-Responsible for administrative management of the departments participation in various events.
-Maintains office systems including correspondence professional contacts appropriate documentation of information systems and patient data and computer files.
-Works as a team member with all other staff to ensure smooth collaboration

EducationHigh School Diploma or Equivalent required and Associates Degree Related Field of Study preferredCan this role accept experience in lieu of a degreeNoLicenses and CredentialsExperiencerelated experience 2-3 years preferredKnowledge Skills and Abilities- Strong communication and interpersonal skills and Comprehensive attention to detail. - Efficient decision-making and problem-solving skills. - Well-developed computer skills and independent use of personal computer is required. - Knowledge of the Windows environment including Microsoft Office software and related database applications Previous experience with MS Access and Excel highly encouraged. - The ability to organize and prioritize a high volume of ongoing tasks is essential. - Must be able to maintain confidentiality in dealing with patient health data.
