Reporting directly to the Regional Director Radio-Canada Ontario is seeking applications for the position of Special Projects Producer to drive content innovation across the this role you act as the creative and strategic hub for the Toronto Sudbury and Windsor stations while collaborating on an as-needed basis with the Ottawa team to ensure province-wide synergy. Your primary mandate is to oversee and coordinate large-scale special projects across all platforms including podcasts audiobooks long-form digital content as well as the production of special programs and broadcasts outside the studio.
Curious creative and forward-looking you work closely with the Community Experiences and Parterships team to explore content production projects that foster direct engagement with our audiences. Drawing on your strong command of Journalistic Standards and Practices and your in-depth understanding of Ontarios diverse communities you ensure the editorial quality of ambitious projects aligned with current consumption habits. You demonstrate boldness in proposing meaningful enhancements for digital platforms while exercising strong mobilizing leadership.
This role requires a high degree of flexibility adaptability and teamwork to navigate effectively across different regional realities. You actively embody and promote values of inclusion and respect in all your interactions.
The work is governed by Radio-Canadas policies standards and practices in journalism and programming.
This is a permanent full-time position. The selected candidate may be required to work overtime and the schedule may change based on operational needs.
Key responsibilities:
Design and develop original concepts for special projects (podcasts audiobooks digital series) and define production objectives.
Establish the editorial vision (angle format) for audio and digital content.
Coordinate multidisciplinary teams from different stations.
Prepare coverage plans and orchestrate deployments for special broadcasts or off-site productions.
Collaborate with the Community Experiences team to integrate audience engagement and proximity strategies into projects.
Review content and provide constructive feedback to ensure high production quality.
Assess performance and technical feasibility at every stage of production from ideation to final delivery.
This role requires full-time on-site presence.
Profile sought:
University degree or equivalent
Five (5) years of experience including three (3) in a related field directly tied to the role
In-depth knowledge of radio digital and television environments
Excellent command of digital writing standards and conventions with strong journalistic writing and editing skills
Relevant experience in content production
Knowledge of Radio-Canadas mandate and Journalistic Standards and Practices
Strong understanding of Ontario-related issues
Commitment to reflecting community and diversity
Ability to work in a high-pressure environment with tight deadlines
Proven leadership and strong teamwork and interpersonal skills
Resourcefulness and initiative
Strong organizational skills
Ability to meet tight deadlines and work under pressure
Excellent editorial judgment
Fluency in spoken and written French
Very good knowledge of English
