Position Overview

The Electrician Apprentice will support the equipment & maintenance team by learning to inspect service diagnose and repair electrical systems and equipment. Apprentices will work alongside experienced electricians gaining practical experience and exposure to industry standards and safety practices.

Wage Range: $20-$25 per hour dependent upon experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist licensed electricians with installation maintenance and repair of electrical wiring panels outlets and components.
• Learn to troubleshoot electrical issues using proper tools and diagnostic procedures.
• Support in reading and interpreting electrical diagrams blueprints and technical documents.
• Maintain safety and cleanliness in work areas ensuring compliance with all safety regulations.
• Help with the setup and breakdown of equipment and materials for electrical projects.
• Participate in ongoing training and development sessions as required.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Education/Experience

• High School diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
• Demonstrated aptitude for electrical work and interest in pursuing a career as an electrician.
• Prior experience in electrical or construction environments is preferred but not required.

Work Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.
• Report to the shop dressed appropriately and ready to begin work at the designated start time.
• Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
• Willingness to work independently within a team environment and assist the team with other duties as required.
• Must be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary.
• Individuals are required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated operations and productions areas as stated by OSHA.

Knowledge/Skill Requirements

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
• Ability to add subtract multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers common fractions and decimals.

• Ability to work collaboratively with a team in a fast-paced and complex environment.
• Ability to work in a safety sensitive construction setting including exposure to moving machinery and heavy equipment.
• To perform this job successfully an individual should be to work in constant exposure to the outside elements in all weather conditions.
