About the Opportunity

Our client is a growing and ambitious organisation operating across FMCG manufacturing and construction seeking a commercially driven Group Chief Operating Officer (COO) to lead and scale end-to-end operations. The role will be based at their Lagos offices and will require in-person attendance.

This is a critical leadership role focused on driving operational efficiency strengthening manufacturing and supply chain performance ensuring regulatory compliance and building high-performing teams in a complex fast-paced environment.

  4. Can you provide a specific example where you improved operational efficiency reduced costs or increased productivity What were the measurable results

  • Minimum 10 years experience in FMCG manufacturing or construction
  • Minimum 57 years in a senior leadership role (COO Operations Director or equivalent) with full operational oversight

  • Key Responsibilities

    Operational Strategy & Leadership

    • Develop and execute operational strategies aligned with business objectives
    • Translate corporate strategy into actionable plans and KPIs
    • Provide leadership across manufacturing supply chain logistics and support functions
    • Drive operational scalability to support business growth

    Manufacturing & Supply Chain

    • Oversee factory operations to ensure efficiency safety and cost control
    • Lead production planning inventory management and order fulfilment
    • Improve capacity utilisation and operational throughput
    • Ensure alignment across procurement production and distribution

    Quality Compliance & Risk

    • Ensure compliance with NAFDAC SON and relevant regulatory bodies
    • Enforce GMP quality assurance and safety standards
    • Identify operational risks and implement mitigation strategies

    Performance & Cost Management

    • Define and monitor operational KPIs
    • Drive continuous improvement initiatives
    • Reduce waste and optimise cost structures
    • Lead budgeting and operational resource planning

    People & Culture

    • Build and lead high-performing teams
    • Drive accountability safety and a continuous improvement culture
    • Support leadership development and succession planning

    Stakeholder Management

    • Partner with the CEO/MD CFO Sales and HR leadership
    • Support business expansion and new product initiatives
    • Manage relationships with vendors partners and regulators

    Ideal Candidate Profile

    • 10 years experience in FMCG manufacturing or construction
    • 57 years in senior leadership roles (COO / Operations Director level)
    • Strong understanding of Nigerian operational and regulatory environments
    • Proven track record of driving efficiency and scaling operations
    • Strong financial and commercial acumen
    • Hands-on leadership style with execution focus
