About the Role

Were seeking an Originator & Structurer to focus on ShortTerm Power Transactions supporting Senior Originators in the origination structuring and execution of short to mediumterm power transactions within the Australian electricity market. This is a strong development opportunity for someone looking to build capability in energy origination and structured transactions working closely with experienced leaders.

Reporting to the Head of Origination the role works closely with Trading and crossfunctional stakeholders to support deal delivery client engagement and the continued growth of ENGIEs commercial activities while strengthening ENGIEs market presence and capability in structured energy transactions and supporting your ongoing learning and progression in the role.

Key responsibilities:

  • Support the full lifecycle of shortterm power transactions from initial opportunity assessment through to contract execution as part of building endtoend origination capability.
  • Assist in identifying and developing a robust pipeline of commercial opportunities aligned with ENGIEs strategic objectives.
  • Contribute to the structuring pricing and financial analysis of short and mediumterm power transactions and bespoke risk management solutions while continuing to deepen commercial and market expertise.
  • Support negotiations and help progress transactions through internal approval processes including risk credit legal and compliance.
  • Maintain accurate deal documentation system records and reporting to meet governance audit and regulatory requirements.
  • Build strong working relationships with internal teams and external clients supporting ENGIEs reputation as a trusted and easytodealwith partner and developing longterm stakeholder capability.

About You

You bring a collaborative commercially minded approach and are motivated curious and keen to learn with an interest in building capability in power origination and shortterm energy transactions. Youre comfortable supporting complex commercial deals working across trading and broader business teams and contributing to value creation in a fastmoving energy market with the support of experienced colleagues.

You will ideally have:

  • A degree in Economics Commerce Financial Markets Law or a related field.
  • Experience in energy markets ideally within the Australian National Electricity Market (NEM).
  • Exposure to shortterm power trading origination contract negotiation or structured products and an interest in continuing to develop in this space.
  • Strong commercial and financial literacy with the ability to assess deal performance and risk.
  • A genuine interest in energy transition decarbonisation and evolving market dynamics and a desire to grow a longterm career in the energy sector.
