Job description
As a Senior Platform Engineer Consultant you will collaborate with our Engineering Productivity team to enhance and maintain our CI/CD platforms (GitLab GitHub ArgoCD ArgoWorkflow) and improve the developer experience with tools like Backstage and Boundary. Your role will be focused on delivering high-quality well-documented and scalable solutions while ensuring efficient communication with internal teams.
We are looking for a highly autonomous and experienced consultant who can quickly onboard deliver well-scoped projects efficiently and provide clear documentation and knowledge transfer to internal teams.
Scope of Work & Deliverables
Technical Responsibilities
Maintain enhance and migrate CI/CD platforms (GitLab to GitHub).
Optimize and automate workflows using ArgoCD ArgoWorkflow and other DevOps tools.
Implement and integrate developer experience tools (e.g. Backstage Boundary).
Ensure security scalability and reliability of platform components.
Write clear well-structured documentation and operational runbooks for all technical implementations.
Delivery Expectations
Adherence to agreed timelines for scoped projects.
Delivery of production-ready well-tested and maintainable solutions.
Regular check-ins and progress updates to ensure alignment with internal teams.
Proactive issue tracking and resolution.
Communication & Collaboration
Be proactive in updates & reporting: Weekly async status updates bi-weekly sync check-ins.
Clear and structured documentation for all work delivered.
Knowledge transfer sessions with internal engineers to ensure sustainability.
Collaborate effectively with internal engineers to integrate solutions smoothly into existing workflows.
Key Requirements
Technical Skills
Strong experience with CI/CD platforms (GitLab GitHub Actions ArgoCD ArgoWorkflow).
Deep knowledge of DevOps & automation tools (Terraform Kubernetes Helm).
Proficiency in scripting & infrastructure as code (Bash Python Go YAML).
Expertise in cloud platforms (AWS GCP or Azure).
Security best practices for CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure.
Delivery & Communication Skills
Excellent time management and autonomy.
Ability to produce well-documented reusable and transparent deliverables.
Strong async communication & reporting mindset.
Fluency in English (written & spoken).
Engagement & Collaboration Model
Remote-friendly provided deliverables are met.
Regular async check-ins (Slack Notion Email) & daily & weekly sync meetings.
Access to internal repositories & infrastructure (as needed with security constraints).
