Responsibilities
TheDirector Renewal Underwriting will be a direct report of the AVP Underwriting Data and Analytics and is a key member of the Aspire leadership team.
The Director will be responsible for managing all aspects of the renewal process at Berkley Aspire.
They will solve key business problems across the renewal space to drive enhanced and efficient underwriting processes and decisions to produce superior results.
What Youll Do
Lead mentor and develop the Renewal Underwriting building a culture of accountability collaboration and continuous improvement
Own and execute the full monthly renewal lifecycle ensuring accuracy timeliness and alignment with strategic and regulatory goals
Drive renewal strategy and enterprise initiatives that improve underwriting quality retention and profitability
Leverage advanced actuarial financial and utilization analytics to inform renewal decisions and portfolio optimization and deliver clear actionable insights through executivelevel reporting pricing analysis and largelimit reviews
Ensure compliance with all state regulations internal audit standards and governance requirements
Partner with Claims participating in roundtables and translating trend insights into underwriting action
Design and optimize workflows systems and modernization initiatives that scale renewal operations
Build strong agency relationships to resolve renewal challenges and support longterm retention
Identify emerging market trends performance drivers and segmentation opportunities to guide portfolio strategy
Communicate complex analyses and strategic insights effectively to senior leadership and crossfunctional partners
Lead talent strategy including hiring onboarding development retention and succession planning
Represent the renewal organization on internal committees projects and industry forums as needed

What You Bring
Bachelors degree preferred; equivalent professional experience considered.
10 years of Property & Casualty insurance industry experience and 5 years of people leadership experience with a proven ability to develop highperforming teams.
Surplus lines experience strongly preferred with deep knowledge of insurance principles coverages rates rules regulations and underwriting operations.
Strong business financial and operational acumen with the ability to think strategically and execute decisively.
Advanced analytical capabilities including building and interpreting ad hoc and standard reporting pricing analysis and model outputs.
Strong understanding of data applications tools and emerging trends with the ability to create clear compelling data visualizations.
Exceptional communication skillsable to influence align and engage stakeholders at all levels and proven ability to build trusted internal and external relationships.
Agile decisive and comfortable leading through ambiguity in a fastmoving environment.
Additional Requirements
This role requires approximately 25% travel or more depending on the needs of the department and organization.
