This is a Continuing Position

Evergreen Public Schools (EPS) offers the following to eligible employees who work at least 630 hours in a school year:

Certificated positions may have additional pay provisions above what is represented on the salary schedule such as but not limited to TRI pay In-Service days and Extended Contracts all in accordance with the applicable Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBA) as negotiated.

Essential Functions:

  • Plan implement and assist in evaluating the schools comprehensive data- driven guidance program.
  • Understand and be able to apply the principles of ASCA the national school counseling model.
  • Guide individuals and groups of students through the development of educational and career plans.
  • Counsel individual students and small groups of students.
  • Use research-based theories and best practices appropriate to school counseling.
  • Consult with parents teachers administrators and other relevant personnel to enhance the work of guidance counseling.
  • Coordinate school and community personnel and resources to enhance the work of guidance counseling.
  • Use an effective referral process to assist students in accessing special programs and resources.
  • Participate in the planning and evaluation of district state and school testing programs.
  • Interpret test and other appraisal results effectively.
  • Work cooperatively and effectively with teams.
  • Engage in on-going professional development.
  • Adhere to ethical legal and professional standards.
  • Adhere to district policies regulations and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Successful completion of a Masters Degree from an accredited institution of higher learning.
  • Valid Washington ESA school counselor.
  • Must have regular consistent attendance.
  • Work directly within the student information system to develop and manage both school and individual student schedules.
  • Participate in building assessment and intervention teams.
  • Secondary counseling experience preferred.
  • WESPaC/Skyward experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of technology and an ability to incorporate into instructional
  • Experience with student scheduling comprehensive academic and career planning 504 guidelines and Special Education services and guidelines preferred.
  • Community agency collaboration experience preferred.
  • Experience with the development and support of new academic programs preferred.
  • Knowledge of and willingness to implement best practices required.
  • Experience working with culturally linguistically and racially diverse students and families preferred.
  • Commitment to life-long learning and professional growth.
