Who Youll Work With

Corebridges Investments Compliance team is a corporate function that provides overall Compliance support and oversight to Investments and consists of certain centralized functions providing cross platform coverage of Code of Ethics & Employee Compliance Portfolio Monitoring Anti-Money Laundering (AML) & Economic Sanctions Regulatory Filings and other cross-functional topics and subject matter experts (SME) responsible for specific asset classes.

About the role
The Investments Compliance team is seeking an experienced Compliance Officer who will join in the execution of the compliance program conducting operational and compliance due diligence (ODD) on third-party investment managers and managing and executing the compliance program over the manager-of-managers team. The Compliance Officer will summarize findings and their assessment of the manager in a report that is presented to the Investment Committee.

In some instances the Compliance Officer will research the laws rules and requirements of the managers applicable foreign jurisdiction and adapt the due diligence process to evaluate the manager on the applicable risks.

In addition the Compliance Officer will be responsible for the ongoing execution of various run the firm compliance routines aligned with requirements of the SEC FCA and state insurance regulators. This role has potential scope for assignment of additional responsibilities and routines that are aligned with the candidates aptitude background or desire for career progression.

All elements of this role will require regular interaction with portfolio managers operations legal other members of the Investments compliance team and staff of third-party investment managers.

The ideal candidate for this role is comfortable having two major responsibilities within a larger compliance program and team. The ideal candidate understands the fundamentals of a registered investment advisers compliance program and other applicable laws rules and regulations and uses this knowledge to evaluate the effectiveness of a third-party managers Compliance program. The candidate also understands the middle and back-office operational functions of private fund managers particularly private equity managers.

The candidate must be comfortable corresponding with asking questions of and challenging when necessary third-parties in one-on-one interactions.

To realize this opportunity the candidate must be a self-starter who is eager to learn by proactively engaging business unit colleagues to learn the nuances of their asset classes and design the AML & Economic Sanctions program accordingly. In doing so the candidate must be able to think beyond individual tasks to consider past/related lessons learned to ultimately be successful.

Skills & Qualifications

Must have at least 10 years of experience executing compliance routines related to a registered investment adviser

Experience with private equity as an asset class is ideal but not required

Experience with public fixed income or private investments will be beneficial

Must be highly organized and able to manage mapping written responses to a 100 question DDQ to voluminous policy and procedure manuals

Must be proficient in business writing skills and able to describe operational and compliance risk in a written report to an audience who are not experts in compliance

Must be proficient in MS Word and Excel

Must be able to meet deadlines with competing priorities.

High degree of intellectual curiosity and willingness to self-learn through reading regulatory releases and publications inquiring with business and process owners and applying past experiences from similar scenarios to current tasks and challenges

Ability to execute with independence knows what to do next without instruction

Ability to confront conflict and difficult issues in a professional assertive collaborative and proactive manner

Ability to work as a team share knowledge and coordinate amongst peers to achieve a common goal

Highly organized with the ability to verify inspect and record documentation supporting results and disposition of matters

Compensation

The anticipated base salary range for this position is $140000 to $160 000 at the commencement of employment. Not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. The actual compensation offered will ultimately be dependent on multiple factors which may include the candidates geographic location skills experience and other qualifications.

In addition the position is eligible for a discretionary bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan.

This position is based in Corebridge Financials Jersey City OR Houston office and is subject to our hybrid working policy which gives colleagues the benefits of working both in an office and remotely.
