JOB GOAL:
The Main Office Secretary is responsible for providing general clerical/administrative office support and greeting school patroons. Handles daily work pressures requiring constant concentration to a volume of work that must be completed with a limited period of time.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Ten (10) month contract (203 days) plus benefits package.NOTE: Precise placement within the salary range will be determined based on education and salary is based on an 8-hour workday. FLSA: Non-Exempt
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma required. Associate degree or 60 college hours preferred.
- Must have demonstrated competency in standard office administration programs such as Microsoft programs including Word Excel PowerPoint Access and other microcomputer applications.
- Correct English usage grammar spelling punctuation vocabulary and proofreading skills for composing business letters and reports are required.
- Work cooperatively with others. Interpersonal skills; using tack patience and courtesy.
- Maintain confidentiality and utilize discretion in all communications.

- Provides administrative support to school staff and provides general clerical support to the main office as directed by the Principal.
- Performs general office duties including but not limited to answering multi-line phones messaging systems making copies greeting the public typing sorting and handling incoming and outgoing mail.
- Prepares programs for all senior events band and flag line prepare and order diplomas for seniors. Other duties related to seniors include but are not limited to assigning car tags for students parking lot(s) collecting exemptions for the 12th-grade student using excel to create a spreadsheet input each students information.
- Facilitates vending snack machine refunds and issues.
- Gathers assignments for suspended students.
- Maintains various manual and electronic documents files and records to provide up-to-date information and historical reference per established administrative guidelines and legal requirements.
- Supports assigned administrator(s) and teaching staff to assist with administrative functions.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by the Principal or Principals designee.
Mental Functions Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to sit stand walk go up and downstairs operate foot and hand controls use a telephone and write. Occasionally the employee must lift and move up to twenty (20) or more addition this position requires accurately perceiving sound near and far vision depth perception handling and working with educational materials and objects and providing oral information. Must have the ability to work for the duration of the daily contracted time and be physically present and at assigned work with only infrequent unexcused absences during the contract year. Additional technical skills knowledge and abilities may be recommended by the immediate supervisor and approved by the Human Resources Director.
